UCI Gran Fondo World Series

On Sunday, June 01, 2025, Aachen will once again host the only German qualifying race for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships. The UCI 3RIDES Gran Fondo will take place on a completely new race track. Participants can look forward to a spectacular and challenging course in the Eifel region.

The UCI Gran Fondo World Series is an international racing series of the cycling world federation. With over 30 qualifying races worldwide, the top 25% of each age group have the opportunity to qualify for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships, which will be held in Australia in 2025.

The concept is that age group participants start in one competition, but are judged separately. No e-bikes are permitted for the competition, only racing bikes.

Important: Anyone can take part! Prerequisite is either a racing license or a signed and stamped sports medical certificate ( download here) plus. Identity card for identification.

The starting documents will be issued upon presentation of an official ID + medical certificate or the racing license. If the participant is prevented, he/she must ensure that the starting documents are collected by a person authorized in writing.

Each participant is obligated to satisfy him/herself of the correctness of the recorded data when collecting the participant documents. Corrections can only be made by the 3RIDES Orga Team until the end of the race number distribution. There is no entitlement to a subsequent change/correction.

The exact route will be published after approval by the Aachen regulatory authorities. The race route is 130 or 80 kilometers long.

AK 19-49w / AK 19-59m: 1 lap = 130km / 2,200m

AK 50-80w / AK 60-80m: 1 lap = 80km / 1,200m

The race route is signposted, 130 or 80 km long and closed for 30 minutes after the top riders. Track marshals and a final vehicle will secure the route during this time. Riders who are overtaken by the final vehicle can continue in compliance with the rules of the road and receive a final time and result at the finish.

The closing time for all age groups is 12.00 noon. The award ceremonies will start at the same time, beginning with the overall winners and then all age groups.
